Jess's Take: The Great TVRG Website Crash

Image
Welcome folks, and welcome to a new installment of Jess's Take. I have to host this on a temporary host since the official TVRG website is still down as of last night. So here is my take on what went down. So, I was preparing a Retro Recommendation for the site. All of a sudden, I noticed that the website was down. It crashed. Since we still don't know what caused it, we are parking our works on a temporary host. I am hosting this on Jessica's Blog as well as The Re-Up. I'll let you know as soon as there are updates.

My Teaching Portfolio!

This is Jessica here! Here is my portfolio for ENGL 412, Composition for Teachers at Union College. Here is my complete portfolio, in PDF. On Essay Three, I give this essay a 6.5 out of 9 on the AP scale. This is classified as a Proficient on the standards-based grading scale. There were few grammatical errors as I have noted in the comments. This student is meeting expectations for the paper.

Life Update

Hey folks! As you know, I am starting this blog up again after taking a long hiatus. So here's an updated version of an introduction.  I'm 20 years old, and I'm currently a sophomore at Union College. I am an English major, and writing is something I enjoy.  1. Where do you see yourself after college? From personal experience, plans often change when you least expect it. As you know, journalism is no longer something I'm pursuing as a major or career option. When I was a senior in high school, I got out of the journalism/yearbook staff. It was entirely stressful and it got to the point to where often times I was angry. It's been over a year since the fallout, and I have moved on from this setback.  As of right now, I plan to be a high school English teacher. I'm excited to see what happens next. 2. Extracurricular activities? I'm a Spiritual Life Intern, and I'm also involved in Common Partners. I also sing in Union Singers and Union Harmony.  3. Bible V

Pre-Graduation Post

With graduation next week, I thought I would say a few things. First of all, don't think that just because the Re-Up is back up and running doesn't mean that I defacto canceled Life Unscripted. I will be returning with inspirational and true life stuff as soon as I can.  My main blog, Jessica's Blog will be returning as well semi-regularly. That means I will have to manage three blogs at once!  See you soon,  Jessica

An Update on My Life...as of September 4th

As you may know, I am almost finished with my fourth week of my senior year. There are a lot of things going on as we speak and it's really tough to say the least. My schedule is for the most part, really easy, but it's a lot of work. I'm in the process of working on my first piece in third block. It's pretty difficult so far, but it's worth it. On September 15th, I will meet with an admissions representative from the University of Kentucky. On September 22nd, I will meet with an admissions representative from Transylvania University. In October, I will retake the ACT, and also I will take the SAT for the very first time for comparison. I will soon be in study mode for both tests and I will be hoping and praying for my score to go up considerably. In choir, considerable progress has been made. It's actually better this time around than it was my freshman year before I took a break for both my sophomore and junior year. In AP English, I'm currently re

What a Busy July!

So I will be completely honest with you and say that this July will probably be a busy month. The following events are definitely taking place. July 2 - Immanuel's Annual 4th of July Firework Show July 5 - Earliest date for AP Score Location Based Access Just in case, use a proxy if you're in Kentucky. But at your own risk. July 7 - AP Scores are available for access for people in Kentucky. Within the next few weeks, I'm taking a tour of Union College.  Quote of the Day:  "When a thing is funny, search it for a hidden truth." ~George Bernard Shaw~

"You are a letter of Christ, written not with ink but of the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts"

This would be one of my favorite spiritual quote outside of the Bible. It shows that we make an impact on other people's lives. Having a positive attitude can make a difference. :)
